Elliott Hundley 'Polyxena's Sacrifice" 2009
Hundley's work reflects my style very well. I have a great interest in photo-montaging and
the possibility of working on the top of these. I enjoy collecting raw material together
with found imagery and representing messages within my work. I have gathered together a collection of work from my
sketchbook within the multiples project of pieces that I feel have links and work well as a montage.
Sculpture - built from pegs, straws, cocktail sticks. 17/11/10
Began by exploring ways of connecting the multiple objects. As the piece began to build itself,
I was fascinated by the spring form that was beginning to develop in an upwards spiral.
The sculpture started to remind me of a tower structure, which I could relate to constructivist artist's such as Vladimir Tatlin
and Tony Cragg. I used a process of deconstructing (the pegs, to use the springs to attach objects) and constructing
(to form a new structural piece). My project has developed from this sculpture and I have kept a recurrent
theme of objects as multiples throughout.
