Sketchbook Studies

Colour invading Paris.

Idea of mapping routes by using toy car wheels and paint. This isn't an accurate recording of the journeys I have made in my car, but it is an impression of the idea I have and the expressive possibilities within this idea.

With the idea of using the Eifell Tower as my focus point and colour invading the tower, I feel my project has perhaps drifted away from having a more personal connection with me. Therefore I have brought the idea to a more local area, Colchester. This way I have the possiblity of collecting found imagery and photography myself, which will make my work more authentic.

One week brief.

This week we were set a 'Car Boot Art' brief to help invigorate the current intervention project. I am not really a fan of briefs as such, and I like to set my own briefs for my work. However, I have found that being set a mini project this week gave me a new sense of direction within my work. I did find myself getting slightly baffled in where to take my work next. I feel this week has really sparked some ideas. On Monday I gathered together a number of drawings from my car in the car park. I tried to make a collection of various drawings from all sorts of interesting angles. From these drawings I have began to consider the idea of vibrant colour and perhaps invading the car space.
