Here I have gathered together some vibrant coloured objects and placed them in a still life format, similar to that I have seen of Jessica Stockholder. I tried to place them in a fairly blank area to get the most effective contrast between the colours I could. I liked the idea of placing various colourful objects in different places, so took a bag of objects around the college to see if I could find interesting places to create interventions.
Pink taking over a wooden white box?
Applying photoshop. Developing on the idea of the colour invading the space. Taking over the box and perhaps moving around the room.
Fluorescent pink wrapped around a pipe in the ground. Idea of wrapping something reminds me of Christo and Jean-Claude. Changing the perception of something ordinary, like a pipe, to a bright colour.
Just another brick in the wall?
Discrete, but powerful intervention.
Colour invading the wall.
Here I have experimented with post-it notes. I saw something similar to this on my visit to Amsterdam along scaffolding poles. I like this idea because people will walk past and hardly even pay attention to the intervention, therefore it is fairly discrete. It could almost be a tag of some sort or marking territory with colour. People can be in control of colour invading space.
